Ceramics ,which are made by baking inorganic materials, are drawing close attention and are being developed as the materials which have superior characteristics on such as abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance and heat resistance, and also have properties which metallic materials do not possess.
We, at Industrial Engineering Ceramics Department of Takao Manufacture Co.,Ltd., have manufactured ceramics materials such as new raw materials highly evaluated as high tenacity Zirconia and slide members, and heat resistance materials excellent in high temperature property and thermal shock, applying every possible molding methods in addition to conventional almina and titania ceramics products since 1973 when we started manufacturing ceramics products.
We manufacture parts of fine ceramics under the consistent process from adjustment of raw materials, molding, baking up to lapping with our unique technology , utilizing the properties of fine ceramics which metallic materials do not possess, and supply our customers with them at requested shapes and requested lots.

What are ceramics?
|
Ceramics are defined as inorganic materials made of inorganic raw materials such as clays processed under high temperature. Glass, china ware and refractory brick are typical examples of ceramics which have been used for a long period.
Fine ceramics are, especially among ceramics, general terms of ceramics which are manufactured under well controlled process using highly purified raw materials.
Raw materials are artificially made and each process is strictly controlled. Today close attention has been given to fine ceramics as new materials which have many functions in addition to characteristics such as high hardness, heat resistance and insulation resistance.

Manufacturing technology of ceramics
|
Production of ceramics, which has many manufacturing processes, begins with grading of grains and adding assistants such as binder. Binder is a "Paste" to keep strength for green machinery after molding. Proper choice of the kind and quantity of binder suitable for the shape of products and molding methods are necessary for molding and green machinery. Baking process is also the important technology. Green body, after being molded and processed, can be sintered only when proper attention is paid to baking methods and baking process programming, and can display its own property as ceramics.
Takao Manufacture, located in Kyoto, the town of ceramics ware, is manufacturing ceramics under total production of ceramics from adjustment of raw materials, sintering up to processing utilizing all kinds of molding methods and manufacturing technology including automation of automatic injection molding and pressing , and supply customers with products at the requested numbers of lot.
